Summary:

The Cessna 172N aircraft under registration number HA-TAH with three (3) persons on board [one (1) instructor and two (2) trainees] was flying from the Airfield of Kilkis/Nea Kavala Polykastrou, Municipality of Paionia, to the International Airport of Thessaloniki. During the flight and with the instructor being the pilot flying, the aircraft struck Public Power Corporation overhead power lines. Immediately after such striking, the aircraft crashed in a nearby islet within the stream bed of Axios river, about 3 nm from the Airfield of Nea Kavala, near the village Rizia in the municipality of Paionia, Kilkis. All three occupants of the aircraft were injured.
