Main Recommendation Text:

The Civil Aviation Authority to consider adding to the certificates the rating of flight in mountain areas (Mountain Flying Rating) and make relevant proposals to the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

RESPONSE to Safety Recommendation:

HCAA responds with its letter [HCAA/D2/E/22173/ 8.06.2019] that:
According to the current EU Reg. 1178/2011 (as amended), the Mountain Rating is provided for and acquired subject to conditions if the flight conditions require it. The Hellenic CAA Licensing Department, following strictly the requirements of the current legislation, will include the addition of mountain capability whenever there is such a pilot request.
