Recommendation PREAMBLE:

It has been observed at many airports which are located in the Greek territory and accommodate International Flights that they do not have markings at the Apron Area.

Main Recommendation Text:

The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority shall make provision for the immediate marking of the Apron Areas of Greek International Airports which are not appropriately marked.

RESPONSE to Safety Recommendation:

ΗCAA states in its letter of 28/9/2018 [HCAA/D3/A/23103/6675/28.09.2018] : "Safety Recommendations 2016-03 about Marking of International Airport Parking Areas and 2016-04 about Certification of Airports Receiving International Flights: These safety recommendations, issued after an aircraft ground collision at Mykonos Airport's Apron [LGMK] during aircraft ground maneuvering, we inform you that under the Concession Agreement and the basis of Regulations (EC) 216/2018 (EU) and 139/2014, airport certificates of the 14 airports granted to Fraport Greece in December 2017 were issued, Mykonos Airport included [LGMK]. These safety recommendations have been fully implemented regarding the airports granted to Fraport Greece, while the certification procedure of other airports covered by Regulations (EC) 216/2018 (EU) and 1394/2014 is in progress.”

[The response is assessed as “Adequate” by AAIASB setting this safety recommendation state as “closed” with document AAIASB/3716/26.10.2018]
