SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS IMAGE HEADERAAIASB SR 2017-06 TEXTS:

2017-06

Main Recommendation Text:

The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority should review the possibility to take measures in order the less experienced pilots who do not have experience more than 100 flight hours, to fly in the aerodrome traffic circuit at least once per six months’ time with a flight instructor, aiming to update their knowledge at the approach and landing procedures.

2017-06

RESPONSE to Safety Recommendation:

HCAA responds with its letter [HCAA /D2/E/22173/18.06.2019] that:
In accordance with the applicable EU reg. 1178/2011 (as amended) the licensed aircraft pilots, regardless of their experience, in order to carry out the duties of commander, must have performed, under recent experience (90 days), a minimum number of landings (day or night). If this condition is not met, the pilot should fly with an instructor in order to perform the necessary landings and thus re-assign the commander's duties. Educational Organizations mention this requirement in their manuals and in addition set even more restrictive terms.

AAIASB assessed the response to SR 2017-06 as “Adequate” and set the SR status: “Closed” on 01/08/2019 [document AAIASB/2763/01.08.2019].
